Teen Gathering

Come one, come all!!!

Come to Girard Bible Church

on Thursday, March 3rd

for a time of fun and games.

Time:  6:30-9:00pm

We are going to be able to use the kitchen, the gym, and the high school room which has ping pong,
foosball, pool, music, Wii games, and other things.  Should be lots of fun!

Bring a snack to share!
Bring your favorite game to play!

From Pittsburg:
Go North on Highway 69 through Frontenac heading towards Franklin.  At the intersection of Hwy 69 and Hwy 47 (there is a traffic light here), turn left heading West on Hwy 47, and go all the way into Girard (about 7or 8 miles) to the 4-way stop.  At the 4-way stop in Girard, turn right heading North on Summit (this is also Hwy 7).  You will go about 3 blocks and then you will come to a kind of "Y" in the road.  At the "Y", you will want to turn left onto Northern Ave.  Be aware that you will be crossing a lane of oncoming traffic when you go left at the "Y", so just be careful.  The oncoming traffic does not have to stop.  Follow this road around the curve, and the church will be the second driveway on the right side of the road.  It is a long white building with a gravel parking lot.  You will want to park towards the North end of the lot where the big bus is parked, as the door you will be using will be on that end.

MPE 2011 Homeschool Conference & Curriculum Fair

It's that time of year again! We begin looking back on this year and wondering what we can do to improve next school year. Homeschool conferences provide a great opportunity for evaluating teaching methods and planning the next year along with getting great deals and ideas for curriculum! If you have not attended a homeschool conference, I highly encourage you to do so.

Midwest Parent Educators host a conference & curriculum fair each year in the Kansas City area. Information for this conference is found below:

"Building on the Foundation"
April 8-9, 2011
KCI Expo Center

A kids program is provided throughout the conference for ages 5-12. Those 13 and up are allowed to attend conference sessions. Nursing babies are always welcome.

Early bird registration is due March 25 and runs $35 per person (spouse and older children are free). Registrations sent in after this date or those at the door are $45. If you wish to attend only the curriculum fair, the fee is $15 per person (spouse is free).

Additional conference information can be found here: MPE Conference Overview 2011.

My husband and I are planning to attend again this year and would love to have fellow CHEA families join us!

February Teen Night Canceled

Moms of Teens,

Due to the weather, we will be canceling the teen get together at Robin's.

We will just try for the March date as scheduled.

I know the teens are disappointed but it is not worth anyone getting stuck or hurt.
