Please plan to attend! This is for all CHEA members and their families, as well as prospective members.

Free Curriculum Available

I have a contact who has offered a variety of curriculum for free. She was gifted with it and just wants to re-gift and pass on the blessing.

Most of it is math of all ages.  Some lit and writing.  Reading books for early readers.  Science for the lower grades. You will just have to contact her and ask if she has what you need

Contact me if you are interested, and I will get you her contact information.

Field Trip Organizers Needed

Many of the field trip ideas we have posted are more of the spring variety.  However, the traditional post office, police dept., and fire dept. would be in doors and perfect fall field trip opportunities.

If any mom's are interested in those field trips, we need a organizer for each of those.  If you are willing, you can run with it and post your info here and/or on the blog.

2016-2017 Field Trip Ideas

In Pittsburg:

Fire Station
Police Station
Post Office
Crawford County Museum

Surrounding Areas:

African Safari Museum - Chanute
Cosmosphere - Hutchinson
Ft. Scott Fort - Ft. Scott  (Labor Day event, so this coming weekend)
George Washington Carver Site - Diamond, MO
Joplin Museum Complex (minerals, history)- Joplin, MO
Prairie State Park - Mindenmines, MO (Prairie Jubilee coming up 9/24)
Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center - Joplin, MO
WWI Museum - Kansas City, MO

Cordell Harley is looking into information for the African Safari Museum. Naamah Harley will be looking into information on the Cosmosphere.  Seth Lindsey will be looking into information for the Crawford County Museum. Lezlie Lindsey will be looking into the information on the George Washington Carver Site and the WWI Museum. Jeannie Johnson will be looking into information on the Joplin Museum Complex and the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center.  Jennifer Ryan is a great contact for the Prairie State Park events.

We still need people willing to gather information on and plan trips for the Fire Station, Police Station, and Post Office.

Typically, field trips have been arranged on Fridays.  But other times may work as well.  It will mainly be a matter of who is attending each one and what they can work out time-wise as a group.
